Isn’t it amazing how music can make you feel so much?
It can improve a mood or help it deteriorate. It can inspire, tell stories and raise awareness. Much like many creative forms, but for us at Avocados we go to music at every turn.
When it feels like there are no words to explain how you feel, there is always a song where an amazing artist has explained what you mean in the perfect way.
'Cause I don't need anyone, I don't need anyone I just need everyone and then some’
Our Katie LOVES Music, to the point where friends will check what she is listening to, to check her mood. She loves songs of all shapes and sizes but most importantly, Lyrics. I will never forget the first few songs that Katie shared with me. She knew I loved musical theatre and one of her favourite artists – Sara Bareilles had written a musical, The Waitress, and had 2 songs from it that were important to her. She shared them with me, and they were amazing. The Lyrics in particular had me weeping with sadness and hope all in one.
‘I could find the whole meaning of life in those sad eyes They've seen things that you never quite say, but I hear Come out of hiding, I'm right here beside you And I'll stay there as long as you let me
Because you matter to me Simple and plain and not much to ask from somebody You matter to me I promise you do, you, you matter too I promise you do, you see? You matter to me’

There are so many songs we could share with you and we probably will as time goes on. From well-known artists like Queen to more recent ones like Demi Lovato and Halsey. People who want to spread messages of love, hope and fun or tell their stories.
I find it amazing how we can all relate to music in different ways, from the way the artist intended (sometimes this is more obvious than others), to finding meaning in odd lines and sentences. How songs can remind us of people we know or knew or of memories in time.
‘But I will spend a lifetime Trying to understand Why someone sharing my bloodline Would not lend me their hand Am I supposed to apologize?’
(Maria Mena – Am I Supposed to Apologize?) https://youtu.be/iKRLZScIW-o
Here started our journey of sharing music, to help explain how we were feeling when we couldn’t find the words, explain past thoughts, feelings and experiences. Something we will
continue to do together and want to share with Avocados.
‘And all this time Oh all this time You have had it in you, You just sometimes need a push’
